Accessing Non-APPX Programs
Although you can use APPX's own design facilities to develop all your new applications, you may have existing programs or applications written in some other language that you would like to run within the context of an APPX application. APPX allows you to invoke programs or subroutines written in any programming language. To invoke other programs, you use either the CALL or RUN statements within an ILF routine.
You may also want to invoke an APPX process from a non-APPX program or procedure. You can do this by invoking a specific APPX process using an operating system command.
